  • Full java servlet rewrite of the core site
  • Approximate feature parity with bN1.0

bN 2.0 Progress

  • Migrate database tables to InnoDB
    • This will probably be a little slower
    • Has better locking so we are less likely to drag the site to a standstill when load is high
    • Will allow better backups without having to bring the site down for a few minutes every night

  • Will break down bN into different "channels" which users can unsubscribe frmo
  • This won't be a tabbed layout, all your channels will be blended together into the current layout
  • Each channel will have it's own queue, which will be similarly blended together

  • Start to permit user defined channels
  • Channels will be allowed to have different rules
  • Contribute bN 3.0 Channel Concepts

[edit] banniNation 3.11 for Workgroups

  • Allow smaller off-shoot like sites that include subsets of the master content.
  • Maybe a SFW one so that we can dodge websense filtering
