BanniNation Fantasy Championship Series
From Voice of the Proletariat
The banniNation Fantasy Championship Series (bNFCS) is a competition between bNers using their performance in fantasy sports leagues throughout a bNFCS season with the winner awarded the BaconTits Trophy. The bnFCS is open to any and all bNers, and participation in all bNFCS sports is not mandatory. The inaugural bNFCS took place during the 2007-2008 sports calendar. All fantasy leagues in the bNFCS will use Yahoo Sports' fantasy sports website. The official slogan of the bNFCS is "Serious Business".

bNFCS Sports
For the current 2007-2008 Fantasy Sports Season, there are 5 official competitions: 2007 Pro Football, 07/08 Hockey, 07/08 Basketball, 2008 March Madness, and Baseball 2008. Due to the arrangement of sports throughout a single calendar year, the bNFCS sports calendar overlaps into the next season. The Baseball 2008 Fantasy Competition will end in the opening weeks of the 2008 Pro Football season
Candidate bNFCS Sports
There are also candidate sports that have the potential to be added, which include NASCAR, Golf, College Football Pick'em and Soccer. In order to be included into the official bNFCS season, bNers would have to actively demand and participate in those fantasy sports.

bNFCS Scoring
Scoring in the bNFCS is volatile and dependent on the amount of participation in each individual contest. The number of points awarded for a championship is based on the difficulty of winning the event. For example, more points will be awarded for winning an active 10 team fantasy football league than winning a 14 team fantasy baseball league that had weak participation. Due to the spontaneous nature of the bNFCS, the number of points awarded for any event/reason is subject to change.
Per Event
- For each event that a bNer participates in, he shall recieve 20 bonus points
Football
- As the opening sport for the first bNFCS, the banniNation League will be scored in an experimental fashion. Points will be earned in one of three ways. The top scorer in each week shall recieve 5 bonus points. The second highest scorer will recieve 3 bonus points. The third highest scorer will recieve 1 bonus point. After week 15 of the NFL Regular Season, the banniNation League regular season ends.
The point system is as follows:
1st place: 150 points
2nd place: 130 points
3rd place: 115 points
4th place: 105 points
5th place: 95 points
6th place: 85 points
7th place: 75 points
8th place: 65 points
9th place: 60 points
10th place: 55 points
Weeks 16 and 17 of the NFL season constitute the playoffs for the banniNation League. The weekly scoring bonuses will still apply in the playoffs, and there will be a final 25 point bonus for the "Championship Playoff" winner.
Hockey
- Since the banninNational Hockey League uses a rotisserie scoring system, points will be awarded based on weekly performance depending on the number of participants in the bNHL. For example, if there are 14 teams in the bNHL, each week the highest performing team will recieve 14 points and the lowest performing team will recieve 1 point. At the end of the season, the champion of the league will recieve a 20 point bonus.
Other Sports: As scoring systems are tweaked to level the playing field between the early starters and those that jump in late, the scoring systems for other sports will be added as it becomes an appropriately timely issue.
