July 6, 2007: Profile page changed to list detailed breakdown of frontpaged, rejected, better-headlined, and discussion submissions. Pansy Metric instituted.

July 13, 2007 Automatic "long headline" tag feature instituted. Headlines measuring greater than 100 characters will now automatically be tagged with "long headline". First application[1].

Also, optional profanity filter and tag cloud toggles added to the options bar temporarily, before its final resting place in the users' individual profiles.

July 16, 2007 First sighting of feature: anonymous posting disabled for users with a STFU index of .5 or greater.

July 17, 2007 Combined "Cool" score implemented by cranky bastard: a line in the profile giving the sum of all comment scores > 0

July 18, 2007 Voting tweaked, so voting one's own posts "cool" will lead to a special surprise.

July 20, 2007 This thread breaks the site record for most posts in an hour. Three times. Started with 343.6 comments per hour, climbing to 370 cph, then 419 cph and peaking at 477 cph, according to Grahams. The result was the "Hot Nut" staying at its highest level for over an hour, a shade of red many had never seen before.

July 26, 2007 This thread breaks the 1,000 comments barrier. First thread to hit 1,000 before disappearing from the main page.

July 27, 2007 The site gains its 2000th registered and verified user! (Actual user ID numbers will be higher to reflect unverified accounts) State of the Bannination Address posted to commemorate this event.

Sudden influx of users, and a couple very long threads, cause Grahams to implement the "last hundred" feature, where only the last hundred posts of a thread are visible by default.

July 30, 2007 Queue is retooled for a neater appearance.

August 29, 2007 10,000th frontpaged headline achieved.

September 23, 2007 Site moved from DreamHost to ServerAxis in one day by grahams in a stunning tour-de-force of Web wizardry. Immediate boost in performance hailed by all and sundry.

November 27, 2007 Site reaches 500,000 comments at 9:51:10 by chiggity chza in appropriately a meta thread. This was followed by the 500,000 Post thread where there was much celebration.

March 7, 2008 Over 3,000 accounts registered, celebrated by the third State of the banniNation Address. Recent code optimization efforts pay off handsomely in terms of response times and overall system stability, and we look forward to high performance and more steady growth.

May 15, 2008 Site reaches 1,000,000 comments at 13:56:22 by wicubfan in a specially dedicated epic thread (NSFW). Most appropriately of all, it was a failed hotlink of an image in the midst of a storm of other similarly (in)appropriate images. Images commemorating this epic win of a failure now abound.
