Tags are those little floating bits of text at the upper right of the bN homepage. Ideally they should tell you about what is being discussed, with the bigger ones being more active discussions. Here in reality, where most of us get our mail, they are used for comedic effect and occasionally for calling out other users. To enter a tag, scroll up to the top of a thread and type. If two or more users match a tag, it gets attached to the article. The more users enter the tag, the bigger it gets. You can downvote a tag by prepending a - to it when entering it. The front page uses tags to allow you to sort the page based upon your interests. Tags that interest you can be set in your profile.
