True Americans are neither leaders nor followers. They are content to be their own masters, to be the captains of their own souls, rather than turn the wheel over to another or insist on being the captain of another person's soul. The belief that one must lead or follow is a false dichotomy. You need not wear a crown, nor must you kneel to one who does.
