I'm 37, married 12 years, and a mom. Originally from Michigan, I've lived in California 11 years now. I don't do a damn thing for a living at the moment, which means I can spend a lot of time on here if I want to. I drive a 1982 beater Mercedes that I love dearly and run on biodiesel, which I like, because sometimes the exhaust smells like french fries. I live in a two bedroom flat. It's too small for us. No storage, you know...

In general I enjoy things that are in bad taste, so bN is a good fit for me. I love movies. Cult, Science Fiction, Zombie horror, silents and just fucking weird are my favorite kind. I have a tendency to 'champion' films I feel don't get their due. Obviously I really like the movie Idiocracy. I'll read anything, but mostly gravitate toward nonfiction history, science fiction, and hardboiled crime novels. I especially like James Ellroy, Philip K. Dick, and books on ancient history and WWII. Our modern culture fascinates me as well, and I have a knack for spotting things that will eventually become popular, but I never have quite figured out how to capitalize on it.

I am a dork. I love all the classically dorky things, like Star Trek, and comic books, though I'm admittedly out-of-date on a lot of gaming, and I've tried to like anime, but can't. It's the eyes. I can't stand the eyes. I do like toys, though, and keep up on those a bit, even though I don't really do any collecting. I like to go to sci-fi cons when it doesn't involve a lot of effort or travel, and I keep telling myself I'm going to shoot satirical fanfilms or shorts for YouTube, but I never do. The concepts are always great, but the risk of looking foolish is so great that I don't do it. I should, though. I could make you laugh, I know it.

I like the Arts, with a capital A, and really enjoy being on stage. I love cooking, especially complex things. I try to sew, but the impulse comes and goes a lot. Politically, I'm very much a liberal, but I do think I've got a centrist streak in me, as well as a libertarian one, but ultimately I'm a lefty. Science is my friend. I'm agnostic/atheist, basically. I don't currently have any pets, but in the past I've kept fish, and I have a tank I keep ready for them. Currently it just has java moss and a bunch of freakin' sex machine snails living it, however. My plan is to get more plants, and put in a little school of 8-10 cardinal tetras. I'm running out of things to say.

Try and get a hold of me at whatplantscrave at ye olde gmail and maybe I'll notice in a week or two.
