My dearest mnemosyne9,
It has been weeks since I last wrote you, and I hope you haven't been worrying too much. We've been on a steady march after Vendaz and his troops, and Commander Perkins has not let us rest long enough to write. Only yesterday did we manage to flush out the survivors and capture them. Many were killed in the last stand, and we suffered our losses as well. I expect that news has reached the North of our victory, and already we are seeing signs of other bands giving up. The war is coming to an end, I can feel it.
Soon I shall return to you and we can continue our life together. The Lord knows how I have longed for this day, to hold you in my weary arms once again, to kiss your beautiful lips, and gaze upon the face that I left so many months ago. I presume that the children are well fed and growing up nicely? It has pained me to be away from them so long, but I know they are in capable, loving hands. Give them my fondest wishes and tell them I shall be home sooner than they think.
